Editorial policy
Curious News Journal aims to make explanations clear, fair and careful about what is known. We distinguish fact from interpretation and correct the record when we find an error.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, quotations and factual claims against suitable source material before publication. We aim to represent sources in context, explain relevant uncertainty and avoid presenting an allegation or interpretation as an established fact. When an article relies on a source's account, we make that relationship clear in the wording.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made separately from partnership arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner-supported material is clearly labelled where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial endorsement.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, make changes when warranted and add a clear correction note when a substantive published error needs explanation. We do not silently preserve an error simply because it has already been published.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. When an illustration could reasonably be mistaken for documentary imagery, we identify it as generated or illustrative. Images are not presented as evidence of an event unless their origin and relevance are established.
A story is a starting point, not the whole picture
We look at the parts that make information easier to assess: its source, its evidence, its framing and the questions still unanswered.
